Warlock #9 - Jim Starlin art & cover

Warlock #9, 1975 - This premiere issue takes over the numbering from the first series (Warlock #1-8), but picks up the storyline from Strange Tales #181. Warlock, Pip and Gamora encounter the all-powerful Magus for the first time. Jim Starlin, partially responsible for reviving the lead character, continues his impressive work. Intricately drawn panels reside within thoughtfully designed layouts. A silently sequenced countdown (see interior page above) is one of many well-paced scenes. The story culminates with the sudden arrival of Thanos. This is number 1 of 7 Warlock issues with Starlin art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Starlin or Warlock issues.
