X-men #63 - Neal Adams art & cover

X-men #63, 1969 - Magneto reveals himself as he begins his conquest of the Savage Land. In response, the X-men join forces with the jungle lord Ka-Zar. Neal Adams' cover hints at the birth of a newly created mutant named Lorelei. His interior artwork is better, starting with a triumphant portrait of Magneto. A second splash of the Beast and Ka-Zar fighting in tandem has less impact, due to a monochromatic palette. Still, Adams maintains a high standard toward the end of his run. This is number 8 of 9 X-men issues with Adams art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Adams or X-men issues. See also this blog's Adams checklist or Top 10 Adams comics.
