Mysteries of Unexplored Worlds #22 - Steve Ditko art & cover
Mysteries of Unexplored Worlds v1 #22, 1961 - Steve Ditko's art dominates the front cover, comprised of panels from the interior story. Rupert Dawes, a high school teacher, is the only one who sees planets and spaceships revolving around him. His optimism and awe are faithfully captured by Ditko, who seems to take extra care in rendering this tale. The ending is a tad anti-climactic, but preceding pages are enthusiastically detailed. Other artists in this issue include Bill Molno, Rocco Mastroserio and Vince Alascia. This is number 13 of 16 Mysteries of Unexplored Worlds issues with Ditko art and/or covers.
