Thor #340 - Walt Simonson art & cover

Walt Simonson
Thor v1 #340, 1984 - In defending an interstellar fleet, Beta Ray Bill and Thor must go to the source of the demon hordes that plague them. Walt Simonson's cover has an uncommon richness, much of it due to the Cezanne-like color palette. Inside, his bombastic drawings come alive within tightly-designed layouts. Thor repels an onslaught of demons in one fine example (see interior page below). On a final note, Beta Ray Bill's original, more human-like form is revealed for the first time. This is number 15 of 41 Thor issues with Simonson art and/or covers. See today's posts or more Simonson or Thor issues. See also this blog's Walt Simonson checklist.
