Frank Miller |
Superman: The Secret Years v1 #1, 1985 - This mini-series pairs up longtime Superman artists Curt Swan and Kurt Schaffenberger for the interior artwork. Frank Miller begins drawing the covers, not long after returning to DC and just before his Dark Knight Returns series. The inks on Superman are fairly sparse, but work well with the configuration of planes in the background. Overall a lofty cover design for a mini-series. This is 1 of 4 Superman the Secret Years issues by Miller. /// key 1st issue

Hello,
I want to let you know that you have an awesome blog here! Just discovered it last week and your commentary is spot on. A lot of your favorite artists are also mine. Keep up the awesome work!
Now on to this Supes cover by Miller: Definitely a favorite. In fact, the covers for the rest of the Secret Years series were superb as well. I think Miller's inking after his work on Ronin was really a high point and so adventurous.
