Man-Thing #11 - Mike Ploog art & cover

Mike Ploog
Man-Thing v1 #11, 1974 - Metallic masked men pursue a young woman seeking refuge in the swamp. Mike Ploog ends his run on this series with an exemplary cover. A close-range blast becomes the scene's focal point while eerily illuminating the title character. Inside, Ploog's work falters from poorly delineated inking. Some panels are better than others, especially those featuring the Man-Thing in action (see interior page below). That aside, the overall result is a disappointing effort showing only glimpses of Ploog's potential. This is number 7 of 7 Man-Thing issues with Ploog art and/or covers.
