Showcase v1 #85 featuring Firehair, 1969 - Following a frontier massacre, a redheaded child is adopted by indians and raised as one of their own. Firehair makes his first appearance as a brave shunned by both whites and indians. Joe Kubert's cover leads into a well drawn splash of the character on horseback. The artwork throughout is terrific, with a generous use of greytones to increase modeling and depth. His splash on page 9 captures the stark ferocity of an indian attack on covered wagons.
