2. (Monster of) Frankenstein v3 #3, 1973 - Marvel's interpretation of the Mary Shelley novel ends with this issue, folded within a larger storyline. The monster exacts his revenge on Frankenstein's lovely wife-to-be, violently portrayed on Mike Ploog's impeccable cover. Note how the candles in the foreground are newly extinguished by the sudden breeze, foreshadowing her death. The artist continues to provide stunningly beautiful pages in his unique textural style. This is exemplified on Frankenstein's shocking reaction on page 17, the splintering glaciers on page 22 and especially the viscous waves on page 3 (see interior page shown below).
