Wildstorm Rising v1 #1, 1995 - Beginning a major event for the publisher, this first issue begins a saga than crosses over to various other titles. The Wildcats battle the Brigade almost immediately within the first few pages with little explanation. Barry Smith's cover and interiors are terrific, despite all the garish coloring. Two double-page spreads in a row pick up the pace from the start. Thankfully, what could be utter chaos is masterfully sequenced and composed. This is chapter 1 of the Wildstorm Rising crossover storyline.
