Walt Disney's Comics and Stories v1 #94, 1948 - Donald Duck gets a job with the US Coast Patrol, but fails to stop clever smugglers in disguise. Though the setting is a remote beach, Carl Barks artfully designs the surrounding landscapes. Layout and pacing are also varied enough to maintains visual interest. This story was later reprinted in Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #306. Other artists in this golden age comic include Floyd Gottfredson, Ralph Heimdahl and Gil Turner. Cover by Walt Kelly.
