Action Comics v1 #521, 1981 - Advocating for endangered animals, a costumed super-heroine convinces Superman that a Metropolis furrier is using illegal poachers to stock his stores. Drawing special powers from her Tantu Totem, the Vixen is even able to knock Superman off of his heels. Although not DC's first black female superhero, she garnered enough fans for inclusion into the Justice League and the Suicide Squad.
