Famous Gangsters (Dillinger Machine Gun Killer) v1 #2, 1951 - Featuring John Dillinger, Machine Gun Kelly and Frank Nitti, this second issue also sports an early Wally Wood cover. In the midst of all the carnage, the focus seems to be on the beautiful moll, faithfully mending a gangster. Putting pretty women on covers was a common tactic during the golden age, but it doesn't hurt that Wood is among the best "good girl" artists of the era. Wood's preview on the inside front cover is more detailed and more visceral, even in black and white. Other artists in this issue includes Mike Becker, Rocke Mastroserio, Leonard Starr and Walter T.
