Star Spangled War Stories v1 #83, 1959 - A paratrooper lands in the dead of night into occupied France. His contact within the resistance, Mademoiselle Marie, fends off several Nazi patrols searching for him. Finding a suitable hideout, they embark on a mission to blow up a German supply train. The only female fighter in DC's war books, Marie's exploits are featured in the next five issues. This Robert Kanigher story was drawn by Jerry Grandenetti and later reprinted in DC 100 Page Super Spectacular #DC-16. Other artists in this issue include Morris Waldinger and Mort Drucker.
