Creepy v1 #84, 1977 - An old decrepit baseball field brings back memories of its glory days, when a player named Willie Mountain led his minor league team on a string of miraculous victories. Carmine Infantino's artwork is thoughtful and nostalgic, but made more contemporary by Walt Simonson's inks. In fact, they improve upon it, adding a kinetic quality perfect for the sports-related theme. Although different, the two artists' respective styles mesh together surprisingly well. Other artists in this bronze age magazine include Carmine Infantino, John Severin and Richard Corben. This is 2 of 7
