Amazing Spider-Man v1 #238, 1983 - After a bank heist, one of the thieves stumbles upon the Green Goblin's secret headquarters. He passes the info on to another criminal, who takes all the contents. This unidentified person remains in shadow throughout the story, until he fashions a new costume along with the stolen gadgets and weaponry. With the Goblin deceased, the Hobgoblin vows to take his place.
