World's Finest Comics #277 - Don Newton art

World's Finest Comics #277
World's Finest Comics v1 #277, 1982 - Professor Edgewise plants a modified seed that grows a massive bridge to the moon. As usual, the disastrous results have to be remedied by Captain Marvel Jr. The plot creates opportunities for scale and interesting perspectives. Rooted in a naturalistic style, Don Newton's art is pleasant and comforting. In addition, Frank Chiaramonte's inking displays a unique texture perfect for the story's imagery. This story was later reprinted in Shazam! The World's Mightiest Mortal #3. Other artists in this copper age comic include Trevor Von Eeden and Dan Spiegle. Cover by George Perez. This is 24 of 28 World's Finest Comics issues by Newton.
