The Phantom Stranger's presence is a mere shadow, his most subtle appearance yet. Neal Adams inserts sculpture and a contemporary chair into the scene, suggesting a victim of means. Most pointedly, the artist places the body in the arrow's path, suggesting its responsibility in the killing. Other artists in this bronze age comic include Jim Aparo.
