Batman #368 - Don Newton art + 1st Robin cover

1st Robin cover
Batman v1 #368, 1984 - Jason Todd formally debuts as the new Robin, just in time for Crazy Quilt to reemerge as a threat. Don Newton's layouts are a tad more recognizable than his pencils. As usual, Alfredo Alcala's inking suppresses the work of most of his collaborators. The montage of past villains on page 10 is a highlight, but not enough to impact the overall effort. Having already donned the Robin costume in Batman #366, this issue marks Todd's first cover appearance (drawn by Ed Hannigan and Dick Giordano). This is 23 of 32 Batman issues by Newton. /// key 1st cover Jason Todd as Robin
