Adventure Comics v1 #61, 1941 - A stereotypical rich but bored playboy, Ted Knight secretly adopts a new superhero persona while fighting crime. Starman makes his first appearance, brandishing his mighty cosmic rod that gets its power from the stars. No origin is mentioned in this debut. Also, his secret identity remains intact despite his maskless costume. Other features in this issue include Hourman, Sandman and Paul Kirk Manhunter.
