Justice League of America #94 bronze age 1970s dc comic book cover art by Neal Adams
Neal Adams
Justice League of America v1 #94, 1971 - Green Arrow meets his match when the League of Assassins hires Merlyn, an archer tasked with killing the Batman. As Neal Adams' eerie cover suggests, Deadman makes a guest appearance, not long after his run in Strange Adventures. Even better, the artist contributes his only story art of the series. Four stunning pages are interspersed throughout the story, mostly focused on the villainous characters. The level of draftsmanship is impressive, starting with the sinister portrait of the League of Assassins' leader. This Mike Friedrich story was mostly drawn by Dick Dillin and Joe Giella. The issue also reprints the golden age first appearance of Starman from Adventure Comics #61, but no Sandman origin. This is 13 of 18 Justice League of America issues by Adams. /// key 1st appearance Merlyn
