Modern Love #7 - Wally Wood art

Modern Love #7
Modern Love v1 #7, 1950 - A young man from a wealthy family falls in love with a hispanic girl, the daughter of a family servant. Their subsequent romance and marriage causes the entire town to shun them. Interracial couples were a rarity during the 1950s, much less in a romance comic. Interestingly, the story doesn't have a happy ending. Wally Wood's artwork is largely unpolished with some odd figure drawing here and there. His experiment using calendar pages as panels (page 2) is clever and unexpected. As a whole, his work is distinctive and pleasing to the eye. Other artists in this golden age comic include Al Feldstein and Graham Ingels. Cover by Feldstein. This is 2 of 2 Modern Love issues by Wood.
