Fantastic Four Special Edition v1 #1, 1984 - The bulk of the issue reprints the Jack Kirby classic from Fantastic Four Annual #1. Note that page 18 from the original story has been replaced by five new pages retelling the Sub-Mariner's origin. This new material by John Byrne is comparable in quality to his wrap-around cover (which works best as a complete spread). His five separate pin-ups of the FF and Subby are even better, showcasing the characters on their own splash pages (see interior page below). This is 1 of 1 Fantastic Four Special Edition issues by Byrne.
