Fantastic Four #40 - Jack Kirby / Wally Wood art & cover

Jack Kirby / Wally Wood
Fantastic Four v1 #40, 1965 - Completely powerless, the FF become targets of an opportunistic Dr. Doom. Daredevil stands by them in their seemingly impending defeat. Like the previous issueWally Wood inks all the DD figures on all pages (including the cover). Per usual, Jack Kirby's drawings pulsate with non-stop action. Vince Colletta's inks vary widely in their effectiveness, from mediocre to satisfactory. This is 40 of 116 Fantastic Four issues by Kirby and 2 of 2 Fantastic Four issues by Wood.

Comic book history. The Battle of the Baxter Building. Kirby and Colletta, doesn't get much better.
