Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #70 - Carl Barks art

Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #70
Walt Disney's Comics and Stories v1 #70, 1946 - Huey, Louie and Dewey adopt a stray mutt, but their uncle Donald is determined to outdo them with a fully pedigreed, highly trained canine. Carl Barks' tale about class and elitism is competently drawn. While devoid of action and movement, the story nicely juxtaposes the two vastly different dogs. Their behavior and expressions create their own visual gags. Other artists in this golden age comic include Al Taliaferro. Cover by Walt Kelly. This is 38 of 278 Walt Disney's Comics and Stories issues by Barks.
