Sub-Mariner v1 #1, 1941 - First appearing in Motion Picture Funnies Weekly #1, Subby begins his first self-titled series with this first issue. The Nazis attack the underwater kingdom, killing the residents and decimating their homes. Though vastly outnumbered, Namor re-groups his people for a counter-attack. This is the first of two Sub-Mariner stories written and drawn by Bill Everett. Rounding out the book is a back-up tale featuring the Angel. Cover by Alex Schomburg. /// key 1st issue
