Police Lineup v1 #3, 1952 - On their father's passing, Mae Crandall and her two brothers embark on a life of crime. Joe Kubert's layouts and page sequencing are far advanced for the genre and the era. Interestingly, his opening panel looks weirdly incomplete (see interior page below). I'd guess a giant spider was blacked out from this metaphorical scene, for whatever reason. Other artists in this issue include Mort Lawrence, Howard Larsen, Gerald McCann and Everett Raymond Kinstler. Cover painting by Renaldo Epworth with Kubert insets.
