Amazing Spider-man #31 - Steve Ditko art & cover + 1st Gwen Stacy

Steve Ditko
Amazing Spider-man v1 #31, 1965 - The mysterious Master Planner directs his crew to perform numerous criminal acts. Meanwhile, Peter Parker is distracted by his Aunt May's sudden illness. Kudos to Steve Ditko for trying a new, unusual cover design. His interior pages, however, display far more effort and skill. The opening splash of Spidey in crimefighting action stands out from the rest of the book. This issue also introduces Gwen Stacy and Harry Osborn (see interior page below), two supporting characters that would become integral to the series. This is 31 of 38 Amazing Spider-Man issues by Ditko. /// key 1st appearance Gwen Stacy, Harry Osborn
