| True Crime Comics v2 #1 |

True Crime Comics v2 #1, 1949 - Costumed and masked, a mugger finds an effective way to rob and terrorize people. Alex Toth's art is detailed and substantial, previewing an approach that he would continue to develop over the years. The opening splash shows a penchant for composition, a trait he would later perfect. Wally Wood contributes a one pager of punishment throughout history. More simplistic than I prefer, yet wholly consistent with his style. The equally divided panels don't help. This issue also includes a Jack Cole reprint from True Crime Comics v1 #2. Other artists in this issue include Jack Small and George Russo.
