Batman v1 #363, 1983 - Scheming up crimes with her partner, a pale beauty named Nocturna makes her first appearance in Gotham City. Don Newton's pencils are hard to recognize, mostly due to Alfredo Alcala's inking. His detail-heavy approach works well on the opening splash, but otherwise muddies much of the artwork. Newton reasserts himself toward the end with some inventive layouts, but falls short overall. This issue also includes cover artwork by Ed Hannigan and Dick Giordano. This is 18 of 32 Batman issues by Newton. /// key 1st appearance, 1st cover Nocturna- - - - - - - - - -
