Batman #363 - Don Newton art

Batman #363 dc 1st nocturna 1980s comic book cover
Batman v1 #363, 1983 - Scheming up crimes with her partner, a pale beauty named Nocturna makes her debut in Gotham City. Don Newton's pencils are hard to recognize, mostly due to Alfredo Alcala's inking. His detail-heavy approach works well on the opening splash, but otherwise muddies much of the artwork. Newton reasserts himself toward the end with some inventive layouts, but falls short overall. Cover by Ed Hannigan and Dick Giordano. This is number 18 of 32 Batman issues with Newton art and/or covers. Find >this issue or more >Newton or >Batman issues on ebay.
