Jack Kirby |
Fantastic Four v1 #12, 1963 - In this historic issue, the FF battle the Incredible Hulk for the first time. As usual, Jack Kirby uses large panels to herald each chapter in this full length story. These dynamic layouts offset some of the more conventionally drawn panels. Kirby's cover is most exciting part of the issue, cleverly separating the combatants with a relatively thin cave wall. Note that this issue marks the first Hulk appearance outside of his own title. This is 12 of 116 Fantastic Four issues by Kirby.
