Destroyer Duck #1, 1982 - A kidnapped friend disappears, then returns from an ordeal in another dimension. Upon his death, Duke Duck leaves his world of anthropomorphic animals to exact revenge in our own reality. Steve Gerber creates Destroyer Duck to fund his lawsuit against Marvel. Jack Kirby and Alfredo Alcala provide the frenetically charged artwork and Neal Adams inks the cover. In a separate tale, Sergio Aragones introduces Groo the Wanderer, a clueless barbarian that would soon earn his own self-titled series. Other artists in this issue include Shary Flenniken and Dan Spiegle.
