West Coast Avengers v2 #46, 1989 - The emergence of a new super-team in the midwest prompts Hawkeye and Mockingbird to investigate. Using a fake emergency, they draw out Mister Immortal, Flatman, Doorman, Dinah Soar and Big Bertha from the shadows. John Byrne's cover drawing lacks sharpness, but his story art meets the usual standards. Mike Machlan's inks has a style of its own, while keeping the integrity of Byrne's pencils. The series title changes to Avengers West Coast the next issue, though the indicia stays the same.
