Popular Romance #25 - Alex Toth art

Popular Romance v1 #25, 1953 - Mike Warden moves to a small fishing town, intent on writing his book far away from his hectic city life. Little does he know that romance is right around the corner. Alex Toth's title page is uncharacteristically dull due to its weak layout. Subsequent pages are more carefully considered and designed. Even in narration panels, the artist includes typographic effects and small icons for flourish. Mike Peppe's dependable linework further enhances the story, mostly set in New England's rural coast. Other artists in this golden age comic include Ralph Mayo. This is 4 of 6 Popular Romance issues by Toth
