Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #65 |
Walt Disney's Comics and Stories v1 #65, 1946 - Adopting a troublesome parrot named Singapore Joe, Huey, Louie and Dewey create all kinds of problems for their Uncle Donald. Carl Barks' page and panel designs are a tad more varied than usual. His drawings show an increased comfort level with the characters. His opening panel fuses the artwork and title together, creating a much more effective setting. This story was later reprinted in Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #420. Other artists in this golden age comic include Al Taliaferro. Cover by Walt Kelly. This is 34 of 280 Walt Disney's Comics and Stories issues by Barks.
