Creepy #101 |
Creepy v1 #101, 1978 - This self-proclaimed "jaws of death" issue follows the massive popularity of Steven Spielberg's classic movie that debuted in the same era. Alex Nino tells of a boy in the 1800s interested in the seafaring exploits of a captain and his run-in with a sea monster. Each spread is composed of a series of vertical frames placed alongside a much larger panel of vistas and panoramas. Nino's excellent drawings have a depth and texture few other artists could match. This story was later reprinted in
Creepy #119. Other artists in this bronze age magazine include Richard Corben and Leo Duranona. This is 7 of 14
