Wheelie and the Chopper Bunch v1 #1, 1975 - Based on the Hanna-Barbera cartoon, this first issue revs up the exploits of the anthropomorphic car. John Byrne provides four illustrations for a brief text story (unrelated to the title character), one of his earliest comic book works. The artwork is sizable and competent, especially on the opening page. His style is appropriate for the younger audience but lacks the verve of other cartoon works from the same period. This issue also includes artwork by Mike Zeck.
