9. Eerie v3 #76, 1977 - Darklon the Mystic makes his first appearance, hunting down a gang of would-be assassins hired by his own father. Jim Starlin blends sorcery and science fiction in his latest creation. His enthusiasm for the character is evident, starting with the impeccably designed splash. The story's pacing and layouts are masterful, augmented by varied textural effects on many panels. This exceptionally drawn tale was later reprinted in Darklon the Mystic #1.
