House of Mystery #63 - Jack Kirby art

House of Mystery #63
House of Mystery v1 #63, 1957 - Two geologists unearth a giant bird egg in Madagascar, which soon hatches into a mythological Roc. As usual, Jack Kirby's style works perfectly with these fantasy-themed stories. Though most of the panels are small, the artist still effectively conveys the Roc's massive scale. Kirby delivers yet another enjoyable read. This story was later reprinted in Super DC Giant #S-20. Other artists in this golden age comic include Mort Meskin, Bill Ely and Nick Cardy. This is 2 of 11 House of Mystery issues by Kirby. /// Kirby gallery
