Sabu Elephant Boy #30 |
Sabu Elephant Boy v1 #30 (#1), 1950 - Based on a 1937 British film, this short-lived series only published two issues. One of Wally Wood's earliest works, the good news is that he illustrates three out of the four stories inside. The bad news is his inexperience results in excruciatingly bad artwork. His layouts are equally primitive, struggling for cohesion. Some of his earlier works were collaborations with artist A.C. Hollingsworth, which is also possible in this case. Regardless of solo or team effort, Wood shows little of his potential in this issue. This is 1 of 2 Sabu Elephant Boy issues by Wood. /// key 1st issue
