Dark Horse Presents v1 #53, 1991 - In the third installment of Sin City, Marv continues to search for answers, starting with going to Kadie's, the seediest bar and strip joint in town. Frank Miller's cover is iconic, but would have been more so without the additional story banner on the left. As usual, his story art is better. The artist's page designs seem to get better with each issue. Differing from previous works, Miller uses intricate detail and perspective to create one of three splashes this issue (see interior page below). In a touch of satire, the artist inserts a Wolverine-like character on page 7. This episode was later reprinted in the Sin City trade paperback. Other artists in this issue include Gray Morrow.
