Queen of the West Dale Evans v1 #13, 1956 - In the first of two stories, two wealthy heiresses show up to lay claim to the same ranch. Russ Manning uses clean, polished lines throughout for maximum clarity. The best scenes incorporate high contrast and shadows (see interior page below). His second tale, featuring Dale thwarting a kidnapping and a robbery, is even better. Silent panels on pages 8-9 place greater emphasis on his drawing and composition skills.
