| Famous Funnies #166 |
Famous Funnies v1 #166, 1948 - In the issue's only text story, a ranch hand defends an old horse from being abused by a bully. Al Williamson, in his first professional start in comics, contributes the two illustrations accompanying the story. Both are long horizontal panels, framing drawings that appear stiff and overworked. Still, one can see potential in his figure drawing, which would become more dynamic and distinctive in subsequent years. Other artists in this golden age comic include Clifford McBride and Marty Links. - - - - - - - - - -
