Batman #375 - Don Newton art

Batman #375
Batman v1 #375, 1984 - Mr. Freeze takes step to realize his vision: encasing Gotham City completely in ice. Similarly, Don Newton's pencils are buried beneath Alfredo Alcala's heavily applied inks. His textures seem incongruent with frozen settings, such as Mr. Freeze's underground lair. Some drawings are better than others (see interior page below), but Newton's hand is mostly absent. Other artists in this copper age comic include cover creators Ed Hannigan and Klaus Janson. This is 29 of 32 Batman issues by Newton.
