Shock Suspenstories #9 - Wally Wood art

Shock Suspenstories #9
Shock Suspenstories v1 #9, 1953 - Suspecting an intruder in his mountain cabin, a hunter instead barges in on a beautiful, half-clothed woman. This fantasy takes a dark turn when the radio warns of a female homicidal killer at large. As usual, Wally Wood's voluptuous depictions of women set a high standard. His sensual figures are further augmented by painstakingly drawn backgrounds (see interior page below). The cabin interiors are rustic and believable, mostly due to the artist's attention to detail. Wood's mastery is laid bare on this superior effort for the publisher. Other artists in this golden age comic include Reed Crandall, Jack Kamen and Joe Orlando. Cover by Al Feldstein. This is 8 of 14 Shock Suspenstories issues by Wood.
