Many Ghosts of Dr. Graves v1 #22, 1970 - A young woman travels with her grandmother to her ancestral homeland in the Baltics, only to uncover a decades-long secret. With an emphasis on graphic lines and shapes,
Steve Ditko delivers a mostly adequate effort. There are more than a few silent panels, used for dramatic effect but actually stem the flow of the story. Ditko does a better job on his second tale, about an irate ghost that suffers from ulcers. His drawings are far more fluid and confident. The narrator Dr. Graves is inserted between scenes, but not to the detriment of the aesthetics. "The Cure" was later reprinted in
Many Ghosts of Dr. Graves #63 and
Beyond the Grave #11, while Ditko's kinetic cover was later reprinted in
Haunted #70. Other artists in this bronze age comic include Nicholas Alascia. This is 12 of 42
