Batman v1 #353, 1982 - A pair of con men bilk a worthy charity, making a fool out of Robin in the process. This back-up story is adequately drawn by Don Newton, apparently taking a break from the main feature. On the opening splash, the Batman is pummeled by his alter ego, "Matches" Malone. Despite the roominess, the layout somewhat misses its mark. Dennis Jensen's inking is largely faithful to the pencils, in a surprisingly similar style. Still, the overall work falls just below Newton's usually high standards. Other artists in this copper age comic include Jose Luis Garcia Lopez (story art and cover).
