Wally Wood |
Weird Science v2 #22, 1953 - Fed up with their cold futuristic world, a young couple escapes to the prehistoric past by means of a time machine.
Al Williamson draws the tale with uncommon grace and sophistication.
Frank Frazetta, to his credit, embellishes the pencils without overpowering them. Their combined talents are most evident on their breathtaking title page.
Wally Wood's mediocre cover is eclipsed by his interior story. Narrated by the artist, "My World" reveals his love of the science fiction genre. Vivid and varied images fill the pages, providing insight into Wood's creativity. This story was later reprinted in the
Wallace Wood Treasury. Other artists in this golden age comic include Jack Kamen and Joe Orlando. This is 4 of 4
