Batman v1 #370, 1984 - Robin foils an extortion racket, only to draw the ire of Dr. Fang and his criminal enterprise. Despite the dominant inks of Alfredo Alcala, Don Newton's hand is mostly evident throughout the story (see interior page above). His layouts begin conservatively, but improve as the plot builds toward the climax. Perhaps most memorable is Newton's opening splash, depicting a solo Robin atop a somber Gotham rooftop. Kudos to
Ed Hannigan for his superb birds-eye view cover. Integrating the masthead into the back wall makes the scene even more claustrophobic. Dick Giordano did the cover inks. This is 25 of 32
