Amazing Spider-man #15 - Steve Ditko art & cover + 1st Kraven

Steve Ditko
Amazing Spider-man v1 #15, 1964 - Hired by the Chameleon, Kraven the Hunter (in his first appearance) uses his supreme predatory skills to find Spider-man. Despite the recurring six-panel grid and several small crowded panels, Steve Ditko's visuals excel. The most significant scenes occur in Central Park, appropriate enough for the issue's "hunting" theme. Ditko draws the combatants' figures in dynamic and agile poses and positions. Most admirable is the bold opening splash, depicting Spidey hanging upside down outside a building. The bird's eye view and sharp perspective are exceptional. Written by Stan Lee, this is 15 of 38 Amazing Spider-Man issues by Ditko. /// key 1st appearance, 1st cover Kraven
