Eerie v3 #60 |
Eerie v3 #60, 197 - In a twisted homage to Little Nemo in Slumberland, a little boy is approached by demons after bedding for the night. Bernie Wrightson's artwork captures the nightmare imagined by many children. His excellent brushwork and thin washes of gray increase depth and modeling (see interior page below). This story was later reprinted in
Creepy #91 and >
Berni Wrightson Master of the Macabre #3. In a separate tale, a female astronaut searches for her missing husband on an uncharted planet. Unlike most of the issue,
Wally Wood's drawings are printed in full color. His seasoned draftsmanship is evident throughout the story, even with the vibrant (and sometimes garish) coloration. This story was reprinted in >
Eerie v3 #131. Other artists in this bronze age magazine include Richard Corben. This is 2 of 3
Eerie issues by
Wood and 3 of 14 Eerie issues by
Wrightson.
