Eerie v3 #60 - Bernie Wrightson, Wally Wood art

Eerie v3 #60, 197 - In a twisted homage to Little Nemo in Slumberland, a little boy is approached by demons after bedding for the night. Bernie Wrightson's artwork captures the nightmare imagined by many children. His excellent brushwork and thin washes of gray increase depth and modeling (see interior page below). In a separate tale, a female astronaut searches for her missing husband on an uncharted planet. Unlike most of the issue, Wally Wood's drawings are printed in full color. His seasoned draftsmanship is evident throughout the story, even with the vibrant (and sometimes garish) coloration. Other artists in this issue include Richard Corben. See today's posts or more Wood, Wrightson or Eerie issues. See also this blog's Wrightson checklist, Wood checklist or Top 10 Wrightson comics.
